San Angelo ISD highly values all educators. As part of the district’s support for new teachers, it hosts a new teacher academy for elementary and secondary teachers. This academy supports staff new to teaching or those who joined the district from a smaller district or private setting.

During January and February, San Angelo ISD 5th and 8th-grade students will begin planning their transitions to the next stage of their educational journey — 5th graders moving from elementary to middle school, and 8th graders advancing from middle school to high school.
On Tuesday morning, January 7, Mayor Brenda Gunter officially proclaimed January as School Board Recognition Month in San Angelo during the City Council meeting, honoring the dedicated members of the San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees.
Due to a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service and anticipated icy road conditions on bridges and overpasses, San Angelo ISD will be operating on a two-hour delayed schedule on Friday, January 10, for the safety of our students and staff. Buses will run two hours later than normal pick-up time.
