The Hispanic Heritage Museum and Cultural Center awarded two San Angelo ISD Difference Makers with prestigious awards at the annual Hispanic Heritage Month Banquet on September 16. The Hispanic Heritage Committee educates and provides public awareness of the Hispanic community’s impact throughout the past, present and future and honors those who have made a profound impact on our community.
Last month, after the district’s annual back-to-school convocation, D.E.S.K., which stands for Donate Educational Supplies to Kids, presented SAISD school faculty with a total of $72,028.36 in support of San Angelo students and families in need of school supplies.
San Angelo ISD will host an immunization clinic in partnership with Shannon Medical Center to provide SAISD families accessible opportunities for students in kindergarten through 12th grade to get Texas-required immunizations.
Hundreds of children and their family members joined San Angelo ISD and local businesses and organizations for the San Angelo READS! & United We Read Back-to-School Pop-Up event, August 2. The event's August date created an opportunity to take the San Angelo READS! Pop-Up event’s normal celebration of literacy and add an additional benefit – a back-to-school celebration with free back-to-school resources.

San Angelo ISD teachers, staff and administrators filled the Foster Communications Coliseum for the District’s annual, back-to-school convocation on August 6. Convocation is a celebratory event welcoming all SAISD employees, from seasoned educators to those just entering the impactful world of education, to the new school year.
